I think I've found a fix for getting the medals to work. When playing the games for medals, PLAY THE GAME IN A POP-UP (capitalized it so you don't have to read the whole post). It's always worked for me after that. The reason is beyond me.
If it doesn't work for you, try a different browser. I'm using Firefox 3 with an ad-blocker.
